The Squirrels is a self-contained annex of the main house in a pretty rural location, set a short distance from a quiet country road, but with easy access to the nearby town of Nailsworth. The property was constructed in 1974 and has been fully redecorated and furnished throughout, providing modern facilities. Surrounded by quiet, attractive countryside, all the rooms have pleasant garden/country views. The property is ideally located to explore the surrounding area by car or bicycle, or you can take one of the attractive walks straight from the door. Friendly, well-behaved pets are welcome. |

Accommodation
The accommodation is on a split-level. The upper level consists of 2 good -sized bedrooms (one double, one twin, with an extra foldaway bed if required). The lower level has a large sitting/dining room and a fully equipped kitchen, including a double oven, microwave, fridge and washing machine. There is a small shower room/toilet.
Prices are between £200 and £275 per week, depending on the season.
Usual arrival time is after 3 pm, and departures by 10.00 am, unless by prior arrangement. Linen, towels, heating and electricity are provided at no extra cost.
Outside there is off-road parking for 2 vehicles, a children's play area and a small private garden for the exclusive use of guests; a further acre of attractive gardens with scenic views can also be enjoyed.
The property is ½ mile from the small town of Nailsworth and only 4 miles from the larger town of Stroud which has main-line rail links to London, Birmingham and the South West.The M4 and M5 motorways are easily accessible, being 15 and 8 miles away respectively. A limited bus service runs past the house; a more extensive service is accessible via a short (but steep) 3 minutes walk.

Leisure
The nearby small town of Nailsworth has a full range of shops and facilities, including tourist information. There are 3 pubs, 2 Indian Restaurants plus several nice cafes within walking distance, 2 of which appear in the Independent's list of the Top 50 food shops in the UK - William's Kitchen (which is also a delicatessen) and Hobbs House Bakery. A footpath adjoining the Squirrels connects the property with many country walks, including the Cotswold Way. In addition, at the bottom of the garden is a disused railway line, which has been converted to a cycle/footpath connecting the towns of Nailsworth and Stroud. (Nailsworth is a pleasant 10 minutes stroll along this path passing an excellent Pub/Restaurant on the way). Horse riding, gliding and 3 golf courses are to be found nearby. Painswick's Roccoco Gardens, Berkeley Castle, Woodchester Mansion and South Cerney Waterpark are some of the local attractions, with the cities of Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham and Gloucester all within easy reach. |

Directions
From M4, take the A46 North in the direction of Stroud. After around 12 miles you will enter the town of Nailsworth. In the centre of the town, at the mini roundabout take the third exit signed to Minchinhampton. Turn left after about 100 yards where the main road bears right. Follow the road for approximately ½ mile and The Squirrels can be found on your left, down a small driveway just past a 40 MPH sign as the road bears sharply right.
If approaching from Stroud, take the first exit at the mini roundabout and proceed as above. The nearest station is at Stroud and there is a regular bus service to the nearby town of Nailsworth.
